BALANCE
THE AMPED SERIES: BOOK ONE
In 2018, "Balance" earned a 4 Star review from Foreword Reviews, a 5 Star Review from Readers' Favorite, an Indie B.R.A.G. Medallion, and was awarded a Silver Medal in the Readers' Favorite International Book Award Contest (Category: Romance-Suspense).
Aidan Pierce has returned to his birthplace to right long-ago wrongs and advance his philanthropic agenda in Lake County, even if it means putting Alexis Greene’s career in jeopardy. Provoking a war between the lawyer’s conservative nature and her deepest desires is both an unexpected bonus and his greatest challenge… and the reward will be one he never saw coming.
New York lawyer Alexis Greene is smart, unwittingly sexy, and well-versed in four letter words. After the tragic death of her husband, she’s established her own successful law firm in Lake County and finally feels adjusted to her ‘new normal’… until she meets notorious bachelor Aidan Pierce. He’s brilliant. Wealthy. Attractive to the point of distraction. And he’s turning her ‘new normal’ into absolute chaos.
His dark past.
Her uncertain future.
An undeniable chemistry.
If she falls into his world, it will take everything she has to maintain her Balance.

"This was such a great book! I adored the people in this one.
Alexis was an absolutely FABULOUS main character. Smart and strong - every time she came into the chapter, I was grinning like no tomorrow.
Aidan definitely felt a little too strong and smug in the beginning for my taste (just too aware of the "affect he has on women") but after a few chapters he grew on me.
I loved that they both dealt with "real" issues in this book - Alexis still felt the pain of being a widow and Aidan never fully recovered from his terrible childhood.
Watching them deal with their issues and grow from them really made this book feel real to me.
The cat-and-mouse game between Alexis and Aidan completely cinched the book for me. It was hilarious and brilliant and just so fun to read."

I’ve read all of the books in the Amped series by MJ Woods and “Fall”, the 3rd and final book in The Amped Series, whisked me away yet again to Lake County where sexy and competent Aidan Pierce and independent and willful Alexis Greene’s love affair unfolds. With danger, mystery and characters from book one and two that develop in their own right (yay, more hysterical, I want my own Charlie! and bam!, Oates is the man!) Woods shows us that she knows how to develop a character for the long haul.
Woods creates a dynamic plot that will have you day dreaming about the characters and their adventures when you’re busy going about the adulting that is required of you in your day. Secretly though, you’ll be wishing you could just sneak in that next chapter (you know those books 😉!)
It’s a romance that’s sexy and passionate and all grown up!
True story: at one point when I hadn’t had the chance to pick up this book because the kids kept demanding my time (can’t the 2 year old change the baby’s diaper🤣???), I was daydreaming about Aidan and Alexis on my drive into town. Lost in their fantasy, I ended up totally missing my turn! So, around the block I went dreaming of what my life with sexy 🔥 Aidan Pierce would look like (move over Alexis!). My husband even put a picture of himself from his younger years into this book as a marker to remind me he was “hot too”. Yes dear, you wore 1989 well🤣!
“Fall” will have you wishing there was no bottom, but when you finally do hit ground, Woods lands a perfect 10 with the culmination of Aidan and Alexis’s love affair. (Swoon!)
From the back cover:
I am royally screwed.
I'm Pam Clayton, a university student with brown eyes and big thighs, the Canadian girl forever introduced as 'cute and smart'. I'm the one guys ask for tutoring help, not for a make out session at a frat party.
I'm okay with this. I'm focused on my future, and I know where I'm headed.
Or, so I thought.
Most of my fellow nerds don't believe in Fate. To them, life is a series of choices resulting in data to be analyzed into quotable stats. I strongly disagree. I've experienced tragedy. I know Fate makes house calls with no regard for my choices.
Over one summer weekend, Fate intervenes again.
My ideal Geek Charming is hurled into my orbit. A tech genius with dark curls and muscles for days known as Daryl Oates proves the sexy brand of smart guy I fantasized about is real. Then, my academic advisor is unwittingly assigned as Fate's sidekick. The plans for my fourth year of study are falling apart.
My snow globe universe is shaken, the foreign city inside vanishing as Fate upends the souvenir like an apathetic toddler learning cause and effect.
Despite my wanderlust and best laid plans, I've been thrown off course...and left in a state of FLUX.

Great story. Not a fan of too much romance and the scenes, but this book is an exception. ... Where's Part 2?!
I IMMEDIATELY tried to buy the sequel, but ALAS . . . So I bought The Amped Series Book One. Sped through it. I've found a new favorite author. This is the FIRST time I haven't said that there were some uncaught typos, some formatting issues. I WILL be recommending YOU to several people. Please, write ON!!
